Description of axial fan KD404

The quiet running axial fan type KD404 has a voltage of 400Volt and a nominal speed of 1400rpm.

The fan with a diameter and therefore a size of 400mm has a flow rate of 1200m³/h.

The axial fans are versatile and can be used in various fields. They are suitable for cooling machines, smaller generator rooms and offices. Due to the design as an axial fan, they can be installed particularly well in hall or office walls. The stable mounting ring also makes it possible to use them in containers for cooling and ventilating them.

Voltage and control of the KD404 axial fan

The control of the AC axial fans can be done additionally by temperature controllers at 230Volt.

The air in office rooms can be made more comfortable by our air quality controllers. Thus, the axial fans are also often used in stables.

In applications with high temperatures, thermal contacts in the form of bimetal switches are recommended to prevent damage to the motor.

The rated voltage of the fans is 400Volt and 50 Hertz, but voltages of 480Volt, 60 Hertz and 575Volt and 60 Hertz are also available for use in the USA and Canada. Also in our offer are special voltages of 500Volt and 50 Hertz.

Stainless steel versions of the axial fan KD404

Also available are stainless steel fans for the food industry in V2A (material number 1.4301 or AISI 304 or X5CrNi189) as well as if desired for salty air in special stainless steel V4A (material number 1.4571 or AISI 316 or X10CrNiMoTil810).

The motors are produced as standard from high quality cast aluminum. On request, they can be left raw for the food industry or treated with food color. Aluminum material approved for food industry is also possible for production in case of regular acceptances.

Painting with salt water resistant paint is also possible for offshore use.

Material of the axial fan KD404

The impellers, which are made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic as standard, can also be made of aluminum for higher temperatures upon request.

A rectangular plate fan version is also available by agreement, but for cost reasons this is only possible from a minimum order quantity.

IP54 and IP56 protection is available for humid environments, with IP44 as standard.

The flow of the air can also be freely selected by specifying the air direction when ordering the axial fans.

To follow the Machinery Directive, weather protection dampers and discharge protection grilles are also available on request.

The air direction of the axial fans can be reversed, but a reversed axial fan is expected to have an air direction reduced by about 15%, as the impeller blades are profiled for optimum efficiency.
The motors, which were specially developed by Kaiser Ventilatorenbau, are specialized for axial fans. The thermal protection class corresponds to protection class F or H according to DIN EN 60085.
For the fans, type tests regarding storage and installation temperature are available, as well as salt water tests for the stainless steel fans in the offshore area. An IPx6 test is available for the moisture class.
The fans comply with the Ecodesign Directive ERP2015 (ErP Directive 2009/125/EC EU Regulation No. 327/2011), carry the CE mark and are designed to be energy efficient just like the motors.
The axial blowers can be controlled over the entire speed range, this can be done by robust and easy to use speed controllers in transformer design.
Stepless regulation and control of the 230Volt AC axial fans is also possible, and control can also be provided by temperature controllers or C02 controllers and air quality controllers included in our range.
In the same way, the three-phase AC motors can also be controlled by frequency converters, however, according to IEC/TS 60034-17, it should be noted that an all-pole sinusoidal filter should be connected between the motor and the fan, depending on the frequency converter.
CAD data are permanently available on our website in STEP exchange format and allow axial fans to be easily integrated into the design and construction process in advance.
